Mykola Suks powerful and pearl-like playing(Wiener Zeitung), his immense talent of tone coloring (Le Soleil, Quebec), his enormous digital control (Toronto Star) and his ability to transform virtuosity into poetry of the mind (Keskisumalainen, Finland) have earned him comparisons with some of the great pianists of all time. One soon understood why he has been compared to Richter. It appeared as if, with his playing, Mykola Suk would set the instrument on fire, said the Trossinger Zeitung, and surely the most towering and volcanic talent to have come out of Russia since Anton Rubinstein, said the European Piano Teachers Journal.

Pianist Mykola Suk gained international recognition as the winner of the First Prize and Gold Medal at the 1971 International Liszt-Bartók Competition in Budapest. Since winning the competition, he has concertized to great acclaim as both soloist and chamber musician on all the major concert stages throughout the former USSR, the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, the Middle East and Asia. Mykola Suk studied at the Kiev Special Music School and at the Moscow Conservatory with the renowned Lev Vlasenko. In 1973, he was awarded the title of Outstanding Artist of Ukraine by the government. Formerly on the faculty of the Kiev and Moscow Conservatories, the New England Conservatory of Music, Columbia University and the Manhattan School of Music, Mr. Suk is currently head of the piano faculty at University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
